*The Closing Reception will be on Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.

Migration is an immersive art exhibition that “marks a time between 1910 through 1970 when Black Americans moved from the Southern states to the Northern states in search of a better life. Gillespie utilizes elements of memory, history, and identity seeking in these exceptional works.” Through the matrimony of abstraction and figuration with remnants of surrealistic gestures, Gillespie’s work initiates dynamic conversations through immaculate imagery and purposeful mark-making.
