The NWS has informed local Emergency Management offices throughout the state to expect a strong storm system to impact our area tomorrow night. The area of greatest threat is South of a Carrolton (Douglas Co.)-Atlanta-Commerce line. At this time the system is expected to start tomorrow afternoon around 1800hrs (6:00PM) and can be expected to last well into Sunday morning.

Hazards from this system are:

Frequent cloud to ground lightning

Damaging winds

Prevalent hail

Isolated tornados are possible with this system.

Minor flooding is possible in low lying areas and surface streets

o Est. rainfall at this time is 2鈥-3鈥 of rain.

The Director of AFCEMA is appointed by the City of Atlanta Mayor, the Fulton County Board of Commissioners Chairman, and must be approved by the Governor.
