The Jail Diversion Discharge Planning Unit  is located on the grounds of the Fulton County Jail. The unit houses a team of jail diversion coordinators who receive referrals for the program from jail staff, the Booking Unit, conflict defenders, public defenders, medical staff, judges, etc.

The staff receives referrals from the medical staff at the Fulton County Jail, conflict defenders, public defenders, medical staff, and Fulton County judges.  

Staff reviews all referrals and provides a comprehensive assessment on potential clients to determine appropriateness for the program.  The Diversion Coordinators present their findings and recommendations to the Court at the client's hearing.  When accepted into the program, the diversion coordinators and the client develop a discharge plan based on the information collected during the comprehensive evaluation.  The Jail Diversion Discharge Planning Unit also offers comprehensive case management services to court participants.  Although it has an office at the Fulton County Jail, the administrative offices and case management for the Jail Diversion Unit is located at:
