The Department of Public Works is in the process of completing a stream restoration project on an unnamed tributary to Morning Creek located at the intersection of Burdett Road and Burdett Way, adjacent to Burdett Park. The project is a result of a settlement agreement with the Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD), wherein the Department of Public Works voluntarily chose to undertake a Supplemental Environmental Project (SEP) within the South Fulton County area. The property belongs to the Fulton County Board of Education (BOE); therefore, Public Works is collaborating with the BOE on the project. Students from Commissioner Edwards' Youth Leadership Academy will participate in the final planting event. Students will join Public Works in planting new greenery and picking up any remaining litter around the project area, which will conclude our work at the project site.
