Fulton County Kicks off 50th Anniversary Celebration of Federal Older Americans Act | Print |

Fulton County will begin its annual celebration of Older Americans Month with a proclamation which will be presented during the Board of Commissioners meeting at 10:00 a.m. on May 6, 2015, in the Assembly Hall of the Fulton County Government Center at 141 Pryor Street.

Fulton County is publishing for citizen review and comment, its draftFY2015-2019 Consolidated Plan. The plan review is required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) prior to decisions on project funding by the Fulton County Board of Commissioners.

Burn Ban Begins May 1st in Fulton County | Print |

Due to a burning ban by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, beginning May 1 and continuing through September 30,2015, Fulton County residents are prohibited from burning leaves, tree limbs, other yard waste or land clearing debris.

Fulton County Water Resources Invites Residents to “Get to Know Their H2O” | Print |

Fulton County residents and employees are invited to join the Fulton County Water Resources Division in celebrating National Drinking Water Week to learn about the water that flow from their taps. Events will be held throughout the county during the week of May 3-9, 2015 to allow residents to learn why access to public water sources that are safe and reliable is crucial for the health and prosperity of a society and about services provided by Water Resources.

SNAP-Ed Food Talk sessions offered by Fulton County Cooperative Extension are designed to teach healthy eating on a budget for low-income parents (and other low-income individuals) who receive SNAP benefits. As the cornerstone of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) nutrition assistance programs, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) plays a vital role in helping to improve nutrition in the Nation among low-income individuals.

Today U.S. District Chief Judge Thomas Thrash Jr. granted Fulton County’s motion to terminate the Consent Decree imposed in 2006 in the case Harper v. Fulton County.

Fulton County Cooperative Extension Offers Chainsaw and Ladder Safety Training | Print |

If you use a chainsaw once a month or even once a year this is the perfect class for you.Fulton County Cooperative Extension will provide a Chainsaw and Ladder Safety Training for private sector employees only on Thursday, April 30, 2015 from 9:00am- 4:30pm at the North Fulton Service Center located at 7741 Roswell Road, Sandy Springs, GA 30350.   Pre-registration is required.  The cost of the class is $12.50 – includes lunch and break refreshments.
