WorkSource Fulton Reschedules Expo for Young Adults to Expose Them to Emerging Career Opportunities | Print |

Young people interested in emerging career opportunities can participate in the First Annual Industry Expo for Young Adults (AIEYA) on  Tuesday, April 4, 2017 from11:00 a.m. – 4:00 pm.   The Expo, sponsored by WorkSource Fulton in collaboration with District 5 Commissioner Marvin S. Arrington, Jr. will be held at AmericasMart Atlanta Convention Center-Building 2 Exhibit Hall, 240 Peachtree Street, N.W., Atlanta, GA.

The 2017 AIEYA will expose youth ages 16-24 to the many diverse careers available in the rapidly expanding Film, TV, and Interactive Entertainment industries emerging in Georgia.  

As a part of AIEYA:

  • Young adults will have the opportunity to explore new careers, gain first-hand knowledge from industry experts, and identify training options that prepare them for promising careers.    
  • Businesses will expose, inspire, and connect with interested and/or unaware young adults and have the opportunity to connect with skilled training providers willing to prepare and deliver training based on the needs of their businesses.
  • Training providers and other Metro Atlanta workforce offices will have the opportunity to educate potential applicants about training that prepares them in practical ways for the real world of work in these industries and to develop partnerships with employers in need of training solutions.

The Expo continues Fulton County’s implementation of the Strategic Plan and addresses two of six principles, which seek to ensure that “All People Are Self Sufficient” and that “All People Have Economic Opportunities.”  

Fulton County Strategic Plan goals are vital for building a strong County.   Additional Strategic Plan principles include the following: “All People are Safe”, “All People are Healthy”, “All People Lives are Culturally and Recreationally Enriched” and “All People Trust Government is Efficient, Effective and Fiscally Sound.”
