Fulton County Public Works to Hold Public Hearings on Water/ Sewer Rates | Print |

The Fulton County Department of Public Works will hold a series of public hearings related to its new Capital Improvement Program for 2016 – 2025. The Department plans to fund the Capital Improvement Program through a water and sewer rate increase.

The Capital Improvement plan includes a number of Water System improvements, Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansions, Wastewater Collection System Improvements, and Water and wastewater Relocations and repairs. Project costs for the nine-year period total around $523 million.

The Public Works Department will hold public meetings on the following dates to hear input from the community about the Capital Improvement Plan and proposed rate increase:

• Tuesday, April 25, 2017, 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Fulton County North Service Center

• Tuesday, May 2, 2017, 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
• Fulton County South Service Center
5600 Stonewall Tell Road, College Park, Georgia 30349

• Tuesday, May 9, 2017, 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Fulton County Water Resources Operations Center
11575 Maxwell Road, Alpharetta, Georgia 30009,
2nd Floor

• Tuesday, May 16, 2017, 6:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m
Fulton County Southwest Arts Center
915 New Hope Road SW, Atlanta, Georgia 30331

If approved by the Fulton County Board of Commissioners, the new rate structure would go into effect beginning on October 1, 2017.
