Providence Park’s Environmental Remediation Project Extended |
|
The Fulton County Department of Public Works has submitted a modification to the Providence Park corrective action plan to the Georgia Environmental Protection Division. The modification includes the addition of two extraction wells and an extension of the operation and quarterly testing of the groundwater treatment system for an additional nine to twelve months.
The change is in accordance with the Georgia Environmental Protection Division’s guidance and the results form the quarterly groundwater tests.
Providence Park, located in North Fulton County in the City of Milton, was placed on the Georgia Hazardous Site Inventory in 2004 and subsequently closed to the public to begin an environmental remediation project. Remediation is expected to conclude in August 2010.
