May is recognized around the world as Mental Health Awareness Month. District 6 Vice Chair Khadijah Abdur-Rahman was in attendance for the annual Mental Wellness Fair at Greenbriar Mall. Hear more from District 6 Vice Chair Khadijah Abdur-Rahman. This is something I do every year, and anyone that knows me knows that mental health is one of my priorities. We have so many things that mental health affects. It affects homelessness, it affects substance abuse, it affects housing issues, it affects everything. It affects our children in school and their ability to do well, so I'm just proud to be here. You know I'm a girl of the South I come out of Southwest Atlanta; so to be here at Greenbriar Mall all these people I grew up with is just a wonderful day.
