The Fulton County Board of Health provides a variety of services that help protect residents from health threats, increase access to health services to improve health outcomes, and provide information that assists Fulton County citizens in living healthier lives. The FCBOH serves nearly one million citizens who reside in Fulton County. The health centers include state-of-the-art clinics to serve our clients along with an Office of Vital Records located in the Fulton County Government Center.

UPDATE: Notice is hereby given of a Public Hearing to be held at the Board of Commissioners (BOC) Meeting scheduled on March 16, 2022, 10:00 A.M. by the Fulton County Board of Commissioners in the Assembly Hall, Fulton County Government Center, 141 Pryor Street, S.W., Atlanta, GA 30303, with a vote by the BOC to approve changes made by the Fulton County Board of Health to its Environmental Health fee schedule. The proposed changes are available for review here, and are made in order to cover the costs of personnel, travel, and parking associated with environmental health inspection and compliance activities, and to update and clarify the services provided. The Public Hearing will be a part of the BOC Meeting Agenda, and the meeting and comment opportunity can be virtually accessed through the information posted on https://www.fultoncountyga.gov. Any interested party may appear and make comment before the BOC at the time specified above.
Respiratory Health (Tuberculosis) program works to eliminate tuberculosis (TB) by conducting physical assessments, screenings, and diagnostic testing for TB infection and active TB disease. Health education and contact tracing is also provided to assist in eradicating the disease.
The Ryan White Program provides primary medical care and essential support services for people living with HIV/AIDS. Clients receive routine medical care, oral health exams and assessments, medical case management, mental health and substance abuse counseling, and information about the AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP).
The Sexual Health (STI, HIV) Clinic works to eliminate the spread of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and HIV. Clients are tested and treated for STIs and HIV, and if appropriate, are linked to care, treatment, or pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) services.
The Breast and Cervical Cancer Program (BCCP) provides access to breast and cervical cancer screenings, breast health education, and case-management services. BCCP also offers referrals for biopsies, diagnostic mammograms, and additional diagnostic procedures when appropriate at no cost to women who meet eligibility requirements.
Family Planning provides services to aid clients in making informed decisions to prevent pregnancy or when to start or grow their families. The program offers comprehensive physical examinations, screening and or treatment of sexually transmitted infections and contraceptives to adolescents, women, and men.
Nursing Services also include immunizations, health checks, vision, hearing, dental and nutrition screenings, as well as pregnancy testing, travel immunizations, refugee health, and care for highrisk infants.
The Teen Clinic provides comprehensive health care services for adolescents and young adults between the ages of 12 and 21. Staff provides sports and school physicals, reproductive health and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) examinations, referrals, contraceptives, and education to reduce risk-taking behaviors.
Environmental Health Services is responsible for reducing the risk of illness and injury related to interactions between people and their environment. Through a combination of surveillance, education, enforcement, and assessment programs, staff identifies conditions that adversely impact human health.
The Division of Health Promotion works to educate, inform, and empower Fulton County residents through evidence-based interventions and strategies that improve health outcomes in the areas of injury, youth development, and chronic disease prevention.
The Office of Emergency Preparedness (OEP) works collaboratively with local partners to prepare for and respond to emergencies affecting public health. OEP staff develops plans, establishes medication points of dispensing, and working with partners, conducts exercises to address the public health response.
The Office of Epidemiology conducts surveillance for diseases and other health conditions affecting residents of Fulton County. Staff performs a series of activities to identify diseases and describe health conditions, assess the health of the county, and develop recommendations to control diseases and improve the overall County health status.
