Fulton County Cyber Incident Response Update for February 22, 2024

Fulton County continues to make substantial progress in restoring its systems following the recent ransomware incident resulting in service outages. Since the start of this incident, our team has been working tirelessly to bring services back up.

We appreciate the community’s continued patience as we work to restore services and investigate this incident.

The safety and privacy of our citizens is of utmost importance, and we are taking this situation very seriously as our team continues to investigate.

We are committed to a comprehensive investigation, and our teams are working to understand what specific information may have been affected as a result of this incident. If we determine that peoples’ personal information was involved in this incident, we will make all legally required notifications.



SERVICE UPDATES

Fulton County has been working continuously to restore services. We have made significant progress in this effort. Services are being restored on a rolling basis.

Key updates include:
• Fulton County water billing has been restored and customers can make online payments.
• GIS mapping functionality has been restored.
• Fulton County facilities are open during their normal business hours.
• All Fulton County email systems are working.
• More than half of Fulton County phone lines have been restored.
• Residents can log on to www.fultoncountyga.gov/cyberresponse for updates

TAX COMMISSIONER / BOARD OF ASSESSORS / BOARDS OF EQUALIZATION
• At this time the Fulton County property tax system has been affected. Electronic payments cannot be accepted at this time.
• Residents may submit homestead exemption applications online.
• Other functionality is coming back online.
• Boards of Equalization hearings are continuing as scheduled.

JUSTICE SYSTEM
• The Fulton County Justice system is operational, albeit without its systemwide technology system. As a result, many processes are taking place using backup systems.
• Scheduled cases are continuing.
• Anyone who has received a court summons should appear and bring their summons with them.
• First appearance hearings are taking place in person at the Fulton County Jail.
• Jurors should respond to any Jury Summons. Check the Juror information page for updates at https://fultoncourt.org/jurors
