Hosted by Commissioner Khadijah Abdur-Rahman and Shaunya Chavis-Rucker, Fulton County had its 5th annual Human Trafficking Awareness Forum. Hear more from District 6 Commissioner Khadijah Abdur-Rahman. Fulton County leads the way in making sure that human trafficking stays on the forefront. We're trying to eradicate it; we know that we found out that human trafficking has been identified in all of the 159 counties of the state of Georgia. We have decided that we are going to get serious about an issue that is not only prevalent, it's on the rise and human trafficking takes different forms. You have children that are in school that leave school and go back to their captive. We have individuals that are working jobs and leave their job and go back to their captive. Human trafficking has taken a whole other look, way, shape, or form. So our goal here in Fulton County is to make sure that we come with the stakeholders whether it be the Federal, local, or state and educate people and let people know to say something. If they see something, they get that feeling that something's not right, to make sure that they let someone know if they think someone's being trafficked.
