Eva Retana

Eva is a native of Gwinnett County, Georgia, with over a decade of experience in criminal justice, currently serving as a Deputy Chief of Staff. Prior to assuming this role, she served in Gwinnett County in the Solicitor-General’s Office and the District Attorney’s Office. Most recently, she served as the Deputy Chief of Staff, Director of Diversion, Media Content Manager, and Intern Coordinator for the Fulton County Solicitor-General’s Office. In these roles, she created long-term planning, managed staff and caseloads, conducted extensive recruitment and hiring, and created social media and print media for distribution.

Eva studied at Reinhardt University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and a Master of Public Administration concentrated in managing criminal justice agencies. Her master's thesis was based on an analysis of the relationship between police and prosecution. Her professional interests include training, legal research, strategic planning, and organization. She recently completed the Certified Public Manager® program at the University of Georgia.

Eva is also passionate about civic engagement and devotes her free time to several community organizations. She is a graduate of the Lilburn Citizen’s Police Academy, a member of the Junior League of North Fulton and Gwinnett, and currently serves as the Board Chair of the non-profit Impact46.
