Memorial Day Closure

Fulton County Government offices will be closed Monday, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day. The closure includes the Government Center, Fulton County Courthouse, and all Fulton County Library System branches. Regular business operations will resume on Tuesday, May 26. Public safety and critical infrastructure services will continue to operate.

Behavioral Health & Developmental Disabilities Class Program

CLASS Program

The Community Linkage Adherence Support Services (CLASS) Program is a grant funded program provided by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. This program falls under the Minority AIDS Initiative: Substance Use Disorder Treatment for Racial/Ethnic Minority Populations at High Risk for HIV/AIDS.

The Program’s Mission is to increase the long term retention in treatment of Black and Latino men who have sex with men (MSM) and Transgender persons (Trans) who are newly diagnosed with HIV.

Who qualifies?

Eligible program participants include persons newly diagnosed with HIV and persons previously diagnosed with HIV who have dropped out of treatment (not seen by a medical provider for the treatment of HIV in more than 1 year) that are from the following demographics:

  • Black men who have sex with men (BMSM)
  • Latino men who have sex with men (LMSM)
  • Transgender (Trans) persons both male to female (MTF) and female to male (FTM)

Clients must:

  • Evidence a substance use disorder (SUD) or have a co-occurring substance use & mental health disorder (COD)
  • Reside in Fulton County, GA
  • Be between the ages of 18 – 59

What services are offered?

The linkage program is a free service provided for all eligible participants which includes:

  • Housing referrals
  • Health services
  • Referrals for treatment for substance use and/or mental health disorders
  • Transportation accommodations
  • Employment referrals
  • Screenings for Hepatitis

Where is the Class Program located?

The CLASS Program is a partnership between the Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Disabilities and the Board of Health. The program is currently housed at the Board of Health, located at 10 Park Place Southeast, Atlanta, GA 30303 and walk-ins are always welcome.
