The ceremonial groundbreaking celebrates the start of construction of the Atlanta Beltline's West Side Trail. This 1.3 mile section of trail connects Washington Park to the Bankhead historic Western Heights neighborhood improving quality of life for residents in District 4. Once completed, the additional 6.5 miles of paved pathways will connect these historic neighborhoods to downtown Atlanta and West Midtown. It will become the beltline's longest continuous stretch.
