Fulton County Kicks Off Major Expansion of Solar Panel Installations at County Facilities

New solar panels on library and senior center are just the start

The Fulton County Board of Commissioners will host a ceremony kicking off new solar panel installations on Fulton County facilities, among the first of 46 installations county-wide. This is a major expansion of Fulton County’s sustainability program, which will result in estimated taxpayer savings of $2.4 million over the agreement’s 20-year life. This program is administered in partnership with Cherry Street Energy, Inc.

The ceremonies will be held at10 a.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2025 at Evelyn G. Lowery Library at Cascade, 3665 Cascade Road SW, Atlanta and 10 a.m. on Friday, May 30, 2025 at Dorothy C. Benson Senior Multipurpose Complex, 6500 Vernon Woods Drive, Sandy Springs.
