CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is a nonprofit organization that supports abused and neglected children affected by the justice system. Hear more from CASA Chief Executive Officer Domonique Cooper. We are celebrating 30 years of being open and advocating for kids in foster care; so we've been open since 1995. CASA has been here working with kids in our community to make sure that we get them support in our juvenile court systems. Our CASA program has volunteers that serve in a capacity of being able to support kids. They get a chance to talk to kids and find out what their wishes are, what their desires are, and what do they want to see that happens. Their whole goal is to get them either reunified with their families or to a permanent loving home. On average, we have about 300 kids we support on an annual basis. So if you do the math 300 times 30 years, we're talking about 90,000 kids easily or more that we have helped, that we've supported that we've got them a level of support in multiple different ways.
