Commissioner Bridget Thorne has recently been appointed to 2 NACo Committees. Hear more from District 1 Commissioner Bridget Thorne. The first one is the International Economic Development Innovation Council. This council develops NACo's programs for international economic development. We exchange information, ideas, and best practices across the county. The Large Urban County Caucus or LUCC reappointment that I have is for large communities where we get together local elected officials, county executives, and board members to discuss best practices that affect large counties. I am fortunate to live in a very diverse population. District 1 is the most diverse population of all six districts throughout the county. So participating on trade missions lately for economic development has been highly impactful to me and to my community as we learn the efforts that drive economic growth and vitality in my area. On a final thought, I feel so blessed to serve on these two committees and represent Fulton County. It is great to have this engagement between local leaders and national organizations to drive meaningful change.
