Fulton County Arts & Culture Unveils “Maypops and Marigolds: The Undying of George Stinney, Jr.” Exhibit
The Department of Arts & Culture presents, “Maypops and Marigolds: The Undying of George Stinney, Jr.”, a solo exhibition featuring the digital photography constructions and installations of artist and art historian, Dr. Amalia Amaki. This phenomenal body of work represents more than twenty years of researching, meditating, and reflecting on the life and premature transition of fourteen-year-old George Junius Stinney, Jr. While honoring Stinney’s innocence and his family’s seventy-year fight for justice, Dr. Amaki reminds us of the importance of remembrance, reflection, and advocacy.
The free exhibit will show from Friday, October 10 to Saturday, November 15, 2025, with the Opening Reception on Friday, October 10, 2025 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Artist Talk will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
