Happening in Fulton: Fulton County Probate Court Celebrates 5,000th Forever Friday Wedding
Fulton County Probate Court's Forever Friday wedding program has reached its 5,000th wedding couple. Hear more from Chief Probate Judge Hon Kenya Johnson. Studies show that people now spend an average of about $30,000 to $40,000 on a marriage ceremony. So we wanted to offer a low cost option for citizens, but still give them an experience. So we created the chapel here inside of the courthouse, decorated it, and offer opportunities for individual appointments. As long as you have a Fulton County marriage license, you can sign up to get married for free every Friday. Marriage promotes stable communities. It reduces recidivism and it builds neighborhood and community. So we are very excited to be a part of developing families, creating a tax, and being a part of the future of Fulton County.
