Happening in Fulton: Ballethnic Brings Urban Nutcracker to Fulton County for the Holidays
Ballethnic performed an Urban Nutcracker for the holidays for Fulton County while also celebrating over 35 years of artistry. Hear more from Ballethnic Dance Company Co-Founder/Director Nena Gilreath. The audience here is going to see a sampler of Ballethnic's Urban Nutcracker Act Two. Our professional dancers, the company that tours and travels and performs as a job, they're performing along with some of our students Ballethnic Academy of Dance. So you're going to see the brown sugar because with our version we changed the sugar plum to the brown sugar to make it culturally relevant and significant. We want to thank Fulton County Arts and Culture for all the support we have received for 35 years. We came here as dancers with the Atlanta Ballet, and we started coming to the commissioner meetings then under the direction of the Director Harriet Sanford. Ever since we started our own company, Arts and Culture has supported us so we're really grateful for that. We're looking for bigger and better things in the future.
