Chairman Robb Pitts’ New Year Message for 2026

January 05, 2026

Chairman of the Commissioners Robb Pitts gives his 2026 message and explains why it'll be a great year for Fulton County. Hear more from Chairman Robb Pitts. I'm looking forward to an exciting 2026, building upon what we accomplished in 2025. First order of business, the approval of the budget for this year. We're going to have some challenges, but we will have a balanced budget, and as always I will be looking out for your money because it's your money. Number two, we will be opening the new freestanding emergency clinic with Grady Hospital in South Fulton County. It's an amazing project done at breakneck speed. Next thing also in South Fulton County, we'll be breaking ground; it's my plan on a new senior citizens facility on land that the county already owns. Next up will be the 2026 elections. You know we've been criticized in the past, but going back to 2020, 2024, 2025, all successful. 2026 in my judgement, will be another good year for us in an elections point of view. Last but not least, the continuing work to make improvements at the Rice Street Jail. That's been a problem for us, but I think we might be headed in the right direction working with the sheriff and other justice partners, but also with the federal monitor. So look forward to some good work on that jail as well.
