Call for 2026 Artists-in-Residence at the Public Art Futures Lab
January 07, 2026
Fulton County Arts & Culture Public Art Program is proud to announce the open call for the 2026 Public Art Futures Lab Artists-in-Residence Program, launching its fifth year of groundbreaking support for artists exploring the intersection of art and technology. Applications will be open from January 6, 2026, to February 10, 2026, with selected artists announced in late March.
Empowering Artists, Engaging Communities
Each working residency spans 18-weeks of studio space where selected artists will explore how art and technology activate public space. Two residencies, sponsored in partnership with ATL DTN, will support artists working with projection mapping or augmented reality, inviting proposals that transform the built environment through large-scale, site-responsive interventions in Downtown Atlanta. A third residency, developed with MARTA Artbound, will take place within transit environments and is intentionally more open and exploratory, encouraging artists to investigate how art + technology can shape everyday experiences of movement.
Selected artists will receive a $5K or $8K stipend, support, equipment, and a platform to develop innovative projects that make an impact in Downtown Atlanta, Fulton County, and beyond. Whether you're already working at the intersection of art + tech or motivated to incorporate new tools into your creative practice, this is a chance to explore, experiment, and create something visionary in response to our partners' prompts. Learn more and apply by February 10.
