Fulton County Sheriff's Office Welcomes Largest Group of New Hires Since Sheriff Labat Took Office in 2021

January 15, 2026
Today, Sheriff Patrick “Pat” Labat and members of his command staff welcomed 18 new employees beginning their careers with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, the largest new hire group to start at one time since Sheriff Labat assumed office on January 1, 2021.

The new employees represent nine detention officers, two deputy sheriffs, five cadet deputy sheriffs, one criminal information systems technician, and one criminal information systems supervisor. Collectively, the group reflects a broad range of backgrounds, to include employees hailing from Jamaica, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Pakistan, New York, Florida, Ohio, and Louisiana, as well as several who are originally from Fulton County.

“Meeting with the largest new employee orientation group since my administration this morning was both humbling and energizing,” said Sheriff Patrick “Pat” Labat. “It shows that people believe in our mission, our reforms, and our vision for the future. I’m proud to welcome each of them to our team dedicated to service and making a real difference in Fulton County.”

This milestone onboarding was made possible through the dedicated efforts of the FCSO Background & Recruitment and Human Resources teams, whose work ensured the successful onboarding of this class at the start of the year.
