Fulton County Recognizes National Community Development Week
During National Community Development Week, observed April 6 – 10, Fulton County and its residents will have a chance to see how federally funded initiatives are making an impact in the community. In Fulton County, programs like the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and the Homeownership Program (HOP), support efforts to expand affordable housing, reduce poverty, and improve infrastructure throughout the county.
Supporting these initiatives is the Fulton County Department of Community Development. The team, which works to strengthen the community through partnership and outreach, received a proclamation during the April 1 Board of Commissioners Meeting. In honor of the recognition, Community Development will also share its work through the testimonies of residents impacted by services. A HOP workshop will also be held on April 22 for interested homebuyers.
“This recognition is a meaningful opportunity to recognize the vital role programs like the Community Development Block Grant play in strengthening Fulton County,” said Community Development Director Stanley Wilson. “Every program supported by Community Development allow us to invest directly in projects and services that improve the lives of our residents, support local organizations, and promote equitable, inclusive growth.”
