Fulton County’s New Health & Human Services – North Facility Opens April 16
Fulton County is proud to announce the grand opening of its new $25 million Health & Human Services – North facility in Alpharetta, a milestone in the North Fulton community that brings increased, easier access to northside residents who need health and human services care, support and resources.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the facility at 4700 North Point Pkwy. is set for April 16 at 11 a.m., followed by a Community Open House on Saturday, April 18 from 10 a.m. to noon. Click here to RSVP for the Open House.
In 2019, Fulton County bought a former Comcast call center and its 24-acre site. The facility served as a testing and vaccination site during the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2024, Fulton County began the massive renovation of the building.
Today, Health & Human Services - North is a modern, purpose-designed and all-access facility that consolidates a variety of essential services into one convenient place while centralizing and expanding the county’s health and human services.
The facility houses:
• Fulton County Board of Health: children’s dental, WIC, nursing, women’s health, environmental health and vital records
• Behavioral Health & Developmental Disabilities: adult behavioral health, child & adolescent behavioral health, Intellectual and Developmental Disability Services for adults, re-entry & diversion services, and opioid use disorder treatment
• Senior Services: Senior Center, adult day health program, and transportation services
• Recovery Treatment Court: group therapy, substance abuse testing and program meetings for defendants enrolled in the Recovery Treatment Court program
• Customer Service Support: complaint monitoring & resolution, translation & accessibility support, A-to-Z service directory, and general inquiries & navigation
Now, the vital services residents expect are much closer to North Fulton residents. Health & Human Services – North provides preventive care and wellness screenings; immunizations; women’s health and family planning services; STI, HIV, and tuberculosis testing and treatment; chronic disease management; and community health education and outreach.
With the expansion of Vital Records services, northside residents now have easier access to birth and death certificates.
Senior Services includes a senior center designed to help older adults remain active, connected and independent. The adult day program provides a high quality care option for seniors with supportive care needs and their families.
A future Behavioral Health Crisis Center funded by the State of Georgia will eventually expand access to mental health and stabilization services, highlighting Fulton County’s focus on prevention and crisis response.
Fulton County Commission Chairman Robb Pitts said Health & Human Services North underscores the county’s commitment to the northside and entire county.
“This is a major investment in quality, access and community well-being, reflecting our dedication to delivering high-impact services across the county,” Pitts said. “By consolidating theses services into one modern, accessible space, we’re improving convenience, supporting coordinated care and building a stronger foundation for long-term community health. We’re meeting our residents where they are with integrated support and expanded essential services.”
Fulton County Commissioner Bridget Thorne, who represents District 1 in North Fulton, said the facility is a tremendous boost to the community.
"This is really about bringing our community together and making these vital services more accessible for everyone,” said Thorne. “We’re delivering real results for North Fulton by expanding access, strengthening services, and bringing critical care closer to our residents.”
Fulton County Chief Operating Officer Dr. Pamela Roshell said the facility represents years of foresight, planning and determination.
“It took the vision of the Fulton County Board of Commissioners to buy this facility in 2019,” Roshell said. “It took a team of internal departments to plan and get us to this grand opening. And all the departments that will actually deliver services are super excited about being in one place so they can better coordinate the care and services they provide to the community.”
