Fulton County Recognizes the Benefits of Homeownership During National Observance

June is National Homeownership Month, and the Department of Community Development is ready to assist interested home buyers.

During National Homeownership Month Fulton County is continuing its push to make homeownership more accessible for all residents. Throughout the month of June, the Department of Community Development is recognizing the national observance by inviting lenders, realtors, and interested homebuyers to learn more about the homeownership process.

Community Development will host a virtual Homebuyer Workshop on Monday, June 22, 2026, at Noon – 1:30 p.m. The purpose of the virtual workshop is to explain the process of homeownership and share knowledge of Fulton County's down payment assistance program.

Participants will receive information regarding:

  • The Benefits of Buying a Home
  • Financial Readiness
  • Down Payment Assistance Programs
  • First-Time Homeowner Essentials
  • Post-Purchase Information to Protect Your Investment
Participants will also receive vital information regarding the Homeownership Program (HOP), which provides affordable mortgage financing for eligible first-time homebuyers. For those who qualify, HOP offers a deferred, no monthly payment loan with 0% interest. To qualify, the home must be located in Fulton County outside the City of Atlanta.
