Fulton County Named Top Digital County for 2026

Fulton County has been named a 2026 Digital Counties Survey winner by the Center for Digital Government and the National Association of Counties (NACo), placing ninth nationwide among counties with a population of 1 million or more.

The honor was presented at the NACo Annual Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana on July 15, 2026,  and celebrates counties that use technology to strengthen services, improve efficiency, and enhance community engagement.

“To be recognized on a national level reinforces Fulton County’s commitment to using innovation to better serve our residents,” said Fulton County Chief Information Officer Kevin Kerrigan. “This achievement sets a national benchmark and serves as the foundation of the work being done in the county to modernize and improve the delivery of government services.”

The Digital Counties Survey highlights how counties are turning today's challenges into tomorrow's best practices through their Innovation and Technology Services (ITS) Departments. Counties like Fulton earning top honors are being honored for their ability to connect technology initiatives to organizational goals, improve the resident experience in measured ways, and build resilient operations capable of supporting future ambitions.

All recipients will be recognized during the 2026 Digital Counties Awards Dinner held in conjunction with the NACo Annual Conference in New Orleans. The annual event brings together county technology leaders and public-sector innovators from across the country to celebrate excellence in digital government and share successful approaches to addressing common challenges.
