Fulton County and City Leaders Pave the way for $650+ million in Transportation Infrastructure Investments
On Monday, August 3, members of the Fulton County Board of Commissioners and leaders from cities in North and South Fulton signed a new Intergovernmental Agreement to allow for renewal of the Fulton County Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (TSPLOST).
The referendum will be presented to North and South Fulton voters during the November 3 General Election. If approved by voters, TSPLOST will yield approximately $650 million from 2027 to 2032 for transportation infrastructure that will improve safety, relief congestion, support economic development and enhance quality of life.
“Transportation remains one of the top concerns identified by Fulton County residents,” said Fulton County Chairman Robb Pitts. “TSPLOST is a great example of local governments working together to deliver the services our communities need and want.”
Strong infrastructure is key to Fulton County’s continued economic success. For the third consecutive year, Fulton County has been ranked by Site Selection Magazine as the #1 Southeast County for total economic development projects. This year Fulton County ranked #7 nationally, among more than 3000 counties.
Each of the 14 participating TSPLOST cities in North and South Fulton will receive a portion of revenue based on 2024 Census population estimates.

- $227,203,245 for Pedestrian, Bicycle, Streetscape, & Landscape Projects
- $182,868,854 for Maintenance & Safety Improvements
- $97,095,523 for Congestion Relief & Roadway Projects
- $96,866,605 for Operations and Safety Projects
- $35,762,460 for Bridge Projects
- $5,760,056 for Quick response Projects
- $7,450,025 for Project Management
Projects were identified and approved by each city, and will all be managed locally. Revenue estimates are based on 100% collection projections.
