Fulton County Issues Property Tax Bills
August 14, 2026
Property tax bills can be paid online, by mail or in person
The Fulton County Tax Commissioner will mail all 2026 property tax bills on Saturday, August 15. Tax bills can also be viewed online at www.fultoncountytaxes.org.
Bills will be sent to all property owners in Fulton County, reflecting levies from the County itself, the public school districts, and municipalities. All of those entities set their own tax rates and will be listed separately on tax bills.
City of Atlanta property taxes are due by September 30, 2026. Fulton County taxes, and those from all other jurisdictions, are due by October 15, 2026.
If you are a property owner and do not receive an expected tax bill by September 15, contact the Fulton County Tax Commissioner’s Office at 404-613-6100.
If taxes are not paid by the due date, interest will begin to accrue the next day and will continue until the bill is paid in full. An additional 5% penalty will be charged on the 120th day after the due date and will continue to accrue 5% every 120 days thereafter until paid in full, up to a maximum of 20%. The Fulton County Tax Commissioner’s Office does accept partial payments, but interest will accrue on the unpaid principal balance until paid in full.
This year’s tax bills will be temporary bills based on valuations in the preliminary 2026 Tax Digest and each taxing jurisdiction’s 2025 millage rate, as authorized August 4, 2026, by Superior Court of Fulton County.
Fulton County sought a Temporary Collection Order from the court upon learning that submission of the 2026 Tax Digest to the Georgia Department of Revenue would be delayed. The Department of Revenue must certify the Tax Digest before taxing authorities can set their annual millage rates. Waiting for Tax Digest certification would postpone issuance and payment of property taxes, which are the main source of revenue for local governments, impacting their ability to provide services.
Each taxing jurisdiction within Fulton County will set its millage rate after the tax digest is completed by the Fulton County Board of Assessors and certified by the state Department of Revenue. Taxpayers will have the opportunity to give input during the millage rate setting process.
Once millage rates have been set, final property tax calculations will be made. A refund or revised tax bill will be issued only as needed.
Property tax payments can be made online at www.fultoncountytaxes.org; by telephone at 404-613-6100; in person at the Tax Commissioner’s office in Fulton County Government Center, 141 Pryor St. SW; at one of the Tax Commissioner’s three other full-service locations; or by mail to:
