Fulton County Arts & Culture Unveils “A Dope Piece of Fruit, Closed Mouths Get Fed Strange Fruit” Exhibit

The Department of Arts & Culture presents, “A Dope Piece of Fruit, Closed Mouths Get Fed Strange Fruit,” a solo exhibition featuring the work of contemporary artist Brian Hebert from Friday, September 11 – Saturday, October 17, 2026 at the Emma Darnell Aviation Museum and Conference Center, 3900 Aviation Circle, NW Atlanta, GA 30336 and Fulton County Government Center, 141 Pryor Street, SW Atlanta, GA 30303.

Through the exhibition, Hebert explores the impact of food deserts on marginalized communities and the limited access to nutritious food that can result. He also draws a parallel to the origins of Hip Hop, when limited access to instruments and art supplies did not stop a generation of artists from finding ways to create and express themselves.
