Fulton County Mighty 6 Cleared for Takeoff 5K Canceled Due to Inclement Weather

October 08, 2026
Fulton County Vice Chair Khadijah Abdur-Rahman has announced the cancelation of the upcoming Mighty 6 'Cleared for Takeoff' Domestic Violence Awareness 5K, originally scheduled for Saturday, October 10, 2026.

The difficult decision to cancel the event was made after a review of weather alerts issued by local emergency management and public safety officials. Forecasts indicate severe inclement weather, including heavy rainfall and high winds, creating hazardous conditions for runners, volunteers, and spectators.

“While we are incredibly disappointed to cancel this annual event, which the community looks forward to, the safety of our participants, volunteers, and staff is vital,” said Vice Chair Abdur-Rahman. “After reviewing the weather conditions and projections, canceling the race is the most responsible course of action.”

The Vice Chair’s office is currently reviewing options regarding whether the race will be rescheduled for a later date. All updates and details regarding the 5K will be posted on www.fultoncountyga.gov.
