Happening in Fulton: Dissolving Tears 2026 | Fulton County Honors Domestic Violence Survivors

October 26, 2026

Fulton County Clerk of Superior and Magistrate Courts Ché Alexander hosted the second annual Dissolving Tears event in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Survivors, advocates and community partners gathered to share personal experiences, discuss available support services and encourage healing. The event featured a symbolic ceremony where participants released written expressions of pain, fear and difficult memories into water. Hear more from Clerk of Superior and Magistrate Courts Ché Alexander. This is the second annual. It is really important that survivors understand that they are not alone and that they need to be heard. I'm actually on the board of the Partnership Against Domestic Violence and they offer wrap around services for housing, jobs, relocation and all of those sorts of things. We have someone from the Fulton County District Attorney's Office that's coming to talk about the program that they have in their office. So, it's just a multitude of resources that we have available in Fulton County. I'm excited that I'm a survivor. I'm excited that hopefully me sharing my story will inspire others that are still trying to figure it out, to be able to have the strength and the courage to get out.
