Pet of the Week
Pet of the Week
The Fulton County Pets of the Week initiative, in partnership with the Fulton County Animal Services Facility, is a dedicated effort designed to promote pet adoption and enhance awareness of the animals seeking forever homes. This initiative serves a dual purpose: not only does it highlight specific pets each week, but it also fosters a deeper understanding of the responsibilities and joys associated with pet ownership.
By featuring a diverse array of pets- from playful puppies to mature dogs and affectionate cats—the initiative showcases each animal's unique personalities and qualities, making it easier for individuals and families to envision their future companions.
There’s no better time to find your purr-fect companion! Foster a pet this holiday season over Thanksgiving through the Fulton County Animal Service 'Home for the Pawlidays' short-term foster program between Tuesday, November 18, through Wednesday, November 26, 2025.
Looking to give one of the hundreds of pets at the facility a temporary home? LifeLine Animal Project, which operates the Fulton County Animal Services shelter under contract, is looking for people to foster dogs for two weeks or more during this season of Thanksgiving. LifeLine will contribute pet supplies, support and any needed veterinary care.
Now you can give a dog a happy home, if only for a little while. Go to www.lifelineanimal.org/home-for-the-pawlidays to be matched with a dog and set a pickup time. Anyone who can’t take a dog can still support the foster program by donating needed items. A wish list is available at the above link. Each adoption covers spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, and a microchip for identification. It’s the perfect time to find the pet that’s been waiting for you.
We look forward to helping you find your new furry forever friend.

After surviving on his own for a year, this sweet boy is finally learning what it means to feel safe and loved-and he's soaking it all in with quiet gratitude. Though a bit unsure in new places, Buster walks calmly on leash, takes treats with the softest mouth, and enjoys slow strolls filled with good sniffs. Each day he's opening up more, leaning in for pets and even flashing his signature toothy grin that wins everyone over.
You can stop by Fulton County Animal Services any day of the week to meet Buster and hundreds of other adoptable dogs and cats. Our address is 1251 Fulton Industrial Blvd NW, Atlanta, GA 30336. At 10 years old, this sweet senior girl is ready to find a cozy home to spend her golden years. Supernova is affectionate, easy to handle, and walks beautifully on leash. She can be a little timid at first, but once she feels comfortable, her gentle and loving personality shines through. She enjoys keeping things calm and low-key-perfectly content to curl up beside you for snuggles and movie time. Supernova has done well meeting other dogs and loves going for peaceful walks.
If you're looking for a mellow, loving companion who will fill your home with warmth, Supernova is your girl.

Starlah is a 6-year-old sweetheart with the perfect mix of calm and charm. She's an easy girl to handle and walks beautifully on leash, making strolls with her a breeze. She's likely house-trained too-she likes to take care of business as soon as she's outside. Though a little shy at first, Starlah quickly warms up with a gentle approach. Once she feels safe, her affectionate side shines through-she'll happily lean in for pets, enjoy back scratches, and even give sweet little kisses. Her tail nub never stops wiggling when she's happy!
Starlah is polite and gentle taking treats, but when it comes to catching them mid-air, she's a pro-and it's absolutely adorable to watch her chomp with excitement! She already knows "sit" and would love to keep learning with her new family. During dog introductions, Starlah has shown to be tolerant and calm, preferring to quietly explore or stick close to her people rather than dive into play. She's people-friendly, smart, and oh-so-easy to love.
If you're looking for a mellow, affectionate companion with a gentle heart and the cutest treat-catching skills, Starlah might just be your girl.
