Meet Kevin Armstrong, a dedicated legal professional serving as Deputy District Attorney for our Appeals Unit. Additionally, he serves as the Lead Attorney overseeing the crucial Matthew Shepard and James Byrd Jr. Hate Crimes Grant, which was entrusted to our office by the U.S. Department of Justice – Bureau of Justice Assistance. Kevin's educational foundation was laid at the University of Georgia, where he earned both his undergraduate and law degrees.
A valued member of our team since 2015, Kevin brings extensive experience to the table. Before joining our office, he spent six and a half years as an appellate public defender in the Dougherty Judicial Circuit, showcasing his commitment to justice and defending the rights of the accused.
As an active member of the legal community, Kevin is affiliated with the Stonewall Bar Association and serves as a board member of the Criminal Law Section of the Atlanta Bar Association. He firmly believes in the significance of combating bias-motivated crimes, recognizing that such acts not only impact individuals but also target entire communities. Through his unwavering dedication and expertise, Kevin Armstrong plays a vital role in advancing justice and safeguarding our communities.
