Worksource Fulton Continues Virtual Operations During COVID-19 Pandemic

March 26, 2020
Encourages Job Seekers and Employers to Visit the Virtual One-stop

Through workforce development programs and resources, Select Fulton is committed to supporting workers impacted by COVID-19. As the county’s workforce development program, WorkSource Fulton is identifying opportunities to continue to meet the employment needs of Fulton County residents by targeting job seekers and workforce development practitioners.

WorkSource Fulton has moved its operations to a virtual one-stop due to the current closures of the Career Centers at North Fulton Service Center, South Fulton Annex, and Adamsville Regional Health Center. Job seekers are encouraged to visit ATLWorks.org for information about employment and training services. Job seekers can complete the fields and a WorkSource Fulton staff member will follow up with them about their needs.

COVID-19 is already having a tremendous impact on Fulton County businesses and workers,” said Robb Pitts, Chairman of the Fulton County Board of Commissioners.Moving services for job seekers online is one more step to support our displaced workers and get them back to work faster.”

The virtual one-stop services include assistance with job applications, career advisement, live virtual orientations with a chat feature to answer questions, live virtual workshops, supporting distance learning, and a career explorer tool to identify opportunities for job seekers. Furthermore, Worksource Fulton is adding talent market to the area which will positively impact the ability to quickly assist jobseekers with employment. We are also offering immediate staff training around transferrable skills and job development to help identify employment opportunities for displaced workers that need to return to work quickly.

Also, the Georgia Department of Labor is accepting Unemployment Benefit applications by phone at 1-844-283-0997 or online at dol.georgia.gov/.

Worksource Fulton will continue to engage with Select Fulton to identify and employ industries that are looking to hire job seekers.
