Early Voting Starts Today & Fulton Mobile Voting Units Hit the Streets

Early voting begins today in Fulton County with 30 early voting locations open for the next 19 days.  Fulton County early voting offers something for every voter. 

Georgia’s largest-ever voting site is open at State Farm Arena, with more than 300 voting machines. In addition, early voting is open at the Georgia International Convention Center, the High Museum, and libraries and community based locations across Fulton County.  All early voting locations and hours can be seen at www.fultoncountyga.gov/voteearly 
 
New this year, two Fulton County Mobile Voting Units are hitting the streets, starting today at Saint Paul's Episcopal Church, 306 Peyton Road, Atlanta, GA 30311, and at Morningside Baptist Church Gym, 1700 Piedmont Avenue, Atlanta, GA 30324, open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Over the next 19 days, the Mobile Voting Units will roll up to 24 scheduled stops around Fulton County. View the Mobile Voting Schedule. On October 29 and 30, the Mobile Units will serve as overflow for the busiest early voting sites.  Fulton County is the first Georgia county to offer mobile voting.

“Fulton County’s nearly 800,000 voters have more options than ever to cast their ballots,” said Fulton County Chairman Robb Pitts. “In addition to using one of our 30 Early Voting locations, they now have the option to walk – or roll -- onto one of our Mobile Voting Units and vote.”

The RV size Mobile Units are large enough to each have 8 to 10 voting stations. The new state-of-the-art, fully accessible bus creates create a simple, secure voting experience for voters of all ages and voters with disabilities.

“With historically high voter turnout predicted, we wanted to make sure that our voters can access every available resource,” said Fulton County Elections Director Richard Barron. “With the Mobile Voting Unit, our goal is bring voting to even more Fulton County voters, and to make voting quick and easy.”

The Mobile Voting Units are just one of the many improvements that Fulton County has made to the elections process over the last several months, in addition to more voting sites, equipment, and poll workers.

The county’s new Fulton County Votes App is another improvement, putting information in the palm of voters’ hands, with information early voting & Election Day polling sites, Drop Boxes, to Elections results. The Fulton Votes app is available now in the Apple App Store and in the Google Play store for Android users.
