Fulton County & Southface Kick Off Resilience Hub Engagement Sessions

Fulton County & Southface Kick Off Resilience Hub Engagement Sessions

March 05, 2021
Fulton County and Southface are kicking off community input sessions for a Resilience Hub (Hub) project.

Resilience means the ability to recover quickly from difficulties. The COVID-19 pandemic, extreme weather events, and other events raise awareness of the need to anticipate, prepare for, respond to, and recover stronger from significant threats or stresses. In the context of climate change, resilience means reducing the human causes of climate change. Resilience also considers a range of socioeconomic factors.

Resilience Hubs enhance community resilience to social, economic and environmental challenges through outreach and engagement, education, services and program offerings, and implementation of technologies.

Fulton County’s Metropolitan Branch Library, Louise Watley Library Southeast and Neighborhood Union Health Center are under consideration to serve as resilience hubs. Ultimately, one of Fulton County’s facilities will be selected to serve as a Resiliency hub.

During the Resilience Hub Engagement Sessions, residents will learn more about resilient technologies and practices that can be implemented in their homes, businesses, and the Hub. Community members will also have an opportunity to give input on the priorities and needs of a Hub in their community to enhance resiliency.
