The 15th Annual Youth and the Law Summit is once again being held in-person on Saturday, April 23, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Andrew & Walter Young Family YMCA located at 2220 Campbellton Road SW Atlanta, GA 30311. To accommodate parents, a hybrid ‘Parents Only Session’ can be accessed with Zoom ID 848 6024 2583.
Each year, Fulton County Juvenile Court has partnered with the Gate City Bar Association; Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School; and Constangy, Brooks, Smith & Prophete, LLP and this year is no different. The Summit is hosted by Fulton County Juvenile Court’s Judge Renata Turner, and co-chaired by Darrick McDuffie, Senior Counsel at Constangy, Brooks, Smith & Prophete, LLP, and Dr. Bridgett Ortega, Associate Dean of Career Services and Professional Development at Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School. Presenting at the Summit are esteemed Hank Stewart, Julious Khalid, Aakeem Woodard, Stevie Baggs, Jr., Reginal Emanuel and Lisa Thomas.
The summit’s title this year is “Straight Talk…No Cap.” Youth and their parents will have an opportunity to learn about their rights, obtain community resources and participate in inspiring discussions. The Annual Youth and the Law Summit is held every year during the month of April and continues to be a bridge between our youth and tools they can use to pursue brighter futures.
