Fulton County Arts & Culture Unveils the “Visions of India” Exhibit

September 14, 2023
Visions of India is a six-week exhibit that begins September 15 and will run through October 31, 2023.

Fulton County Art & Culture in collaboration with artists of the Indian Diaspora announces its new “Visions of India” Exhibit. The art exhibition celebrates the talents of 19 Indian artists from the Atlanta area who display their love and appreciation for their Indian heritage.

The “Visions of India” exhibition offers an introspective perception into the artists of the Indian Diaspora’s personal and artistic journey. The exhibit of artwork also includes both the Assemble and Peachtree Gallery in the Fulton County Government Center, creating a colorful display that reaches into the heart of India.

There will be an Opening Reception on Friday, September 15 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., in the Atrium of the Fulton County Government Center, 141 Pryor Street, SW, Atlanta. The Opening Reception will include classical Indian music, food, and a fashion show – “The History of the Saree”, which serves as a perfect segue into the Fulton County Fashion Art Culture & Education (FACE) 2023 Experience. FACE is approximately 40 days of cultural art experiences and highlights the county’s investment in fashion, art, culture, and education.

The FACE initiative also serves as the foundation needed to inspire art lovers and springboard the next generation of individuals inspired by art.

In addition to the Opening Reception, “Visions of India” will continue with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra as they host “Folk Tales, Ragas and Lost Love” with Amjad Ali Khan and an Indian Festival on October 21 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The exhibit, which is free and opened to the public will run from September 15 through October 31, 2023 in the Assemble Gallery and Peachtree Gallery at the Fulton County Government Center, 141 Pryor Street, SW, Atlanta.
