Fulton County’s Cooperative Extension is gearing up for the Summer 2024 Fulton Fresh Mobile Market by opening applications to those who would like to become a host site. The deadline to submit applications is 5 p.m., Friday, March 22, 2024.
The Mobile market promotes good nutrition and educational resources to residents throughout the county by offering residents fresh-grown fruits and vegetables, cooking demonstrations and more. The market will roll through Fulton communities this summer for two 5-week sessions: the first from Tuesday, May 28-Thursday, June 27, and the second session from Tuesday, July 9-Thursday, August 8, 2024.
The Fulton Fresh Mobile Market was created to educate residents living in communities designated as “food deserts” on the importance of nutrition and fresh, in-season produce. Every week, attendees will participate in a 30–45-minute UGA Fulton County Cooperative Extension nutrition education course and food demonstration. Attendees will also be given a free bag of in-season produce from our mobile market to take home and prepare.
The free produce will be given to individuals who arrive to the nutrition class no later than ten minutes after it begins. Participants will be served a total of 5 times during the Summer season. Prospective sites for the Summer 2024 market will be selected through an application process and the agency contact will assist in the set up and advertising of the mobile market stop. The point of contact must be present at all sessions.
Agencies that have been selected in the past may apply again but will go through the same rubric and interview process as every other agency that is interested and applies by the deadline.
Priority will be given to those living in food deserts. To apply, visit: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/10Qw1q7noUhuRo2PY77rc5wP7neZJ6AUvEJ0XWO4hlKU/edit
