Fulton County Recognizes Fourth Annual National Poll Worker Recruitment Day

August 01, 2024
In recognition of the day, the Elections team is continuing its efforts to recruit workers for the upcoming election.

With less than 100 days left until the November 5 General Election, Fulton County is joining the rest of the country to celebrate National Poll Worker Recruitment Day on Thursday, August 1.

This initiative seeks to promote civic participation and volunteerism and ensure the integrity and security of the elections. The Fulton County Voter Education Outreach team is continuing its ongoing efforts to encourage all eligible residents to consider serving as a poll worker.

“Poll workers play a vital role in maintaining accessible and accurate elections,” said Elections Director Nadine Williams. “We are thrilled to highlight National Poll Worker Recruitment Day before the November election and to promote civic engagement and volunteerism, encouraging people to step up and serve their communities.”

Priority will be given to poll workers who worked previous elections this year and to Fulton County Residents.  The workers will be used to staff the 35 polling locations for the Advanced Voting Period scheduled for October 15 to November 1 and for the 177 locations that will be open for the November 5, 2024, General Election.

To be a poll worker you must:
• Have a willingness to serve
• Be at least 16 years of age.
• Be willing to work from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Election. The polls will close at 7 p.m. on Election Day.
