This year’s theme, “Start a Conversation,” centers on increasing preparedness within our Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities, emphasizing the importance of building resilience before disaster strikes. AFCEMA is proud to join a nationwide initiative involving thousands of private, public, and nonprofit organizations, all united to inspire and equip citizens to be ready for any natural or man-made disaster.
“Disasters can reshape our lives in the blink of an eye,” said Joseph Barasoain, AFCEMA Director. “It’s critical for every individual, household, and business to be prepared. National Preparedness Month provides an opportunity for all of us to take steps that ensure our personal safety, the safety of our workplaces, and the safety of our communities.”
Each week in September will focus on a specific preparedness theme to guide residents through the process of planning, equipping, and staying informed.
