Public Works visited the Big Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant. Hear more from Public Works Director David Clark. It is a membrane treatment facility which is a higher level of treatment of wastewater than what was here before this project. It also is the second largest membrane facility in North America today. It serves all of Roswell, Alpharetta, and a portion of Milton and Johns Creek. That area over the last 20 years as everyone knows has grown exponentially with economic developments. If we did not build this new plant the area would not be allowed to grow anymore. This allows us to not only treat wastewater at a higher level than what the old plant was, but it bought us additional capacity to continue to allow for the growth that the cities of Roswell and Alpharetta have planned for the next 20 years.
