Fulton County Commissioner Bob Ellis Named 2025 Vice Chairman

The District 2 Representative will serve in the leadership role for one year.

Fulton County District 2 Commissioner Bob Ellis will once again serve as the Vice Chair for the Board of Commissioners.

Ellis, who received a majority of the vote from the Board was named to the position by his colleagues during the January 8 meeting. Commissioner Ellis will serve in that position for the next year.

“Serving in this role is an honor and privilege,” said Commissioner Ellis. “To be able to serve the residents of Fulton County and the Board once again in this capacity is something I will not take lightly. As the Vice Chair, I will continue working with my colleagues on the Board to provide quality programs and customer service for all residents.”

This is not the Commissioner’s first time serving in this role. He served as Vice Chairman of the Fulton County Board of Commissioners from 2017 to 2019 and again from 2023 to 2024. As the longtime representative of District 2, which encompasses the cities of Milton, Mountain Park and large parts of Alpharetta, Roswell, and Sandy Springs the Commissioner is known for his work in strengthening infrastructure, procedures, and management in Fulton County.

First elected in 2014, Commissioner Ellis also serves as the Chairman of the County’s Audit Committee, a board member of the Atlanta-Fulton County Recreation Authority, the Atlanta-Fulton County Water Resources Commission, and the Fulton County Employees Retirement System. Commissioner Ellis has also been a leader in seeking to reform Fulton County’s property tax system and lower tax rates, while sounding a strong voice for improving the County’s delivery of Behavioral Health and Public Health services.

A native of Commerce, Georgia, Commissioner Bob Ellis graduated with the highest honors from the University of Georgia’s Terry School of Business and is a long-time resident of North Fulton County. Bob and his wife Jennifer have three children and reside in Milton.
