The Fulton County Water Public Works Department urges all residents to take these precautions during this week’s below-freezing temperatures:
1. Allow a small, steady drip of cold water from a single indoor faucet when temperatures drop below 32°F.
2. Open cabinet doors under sinks to let warm air circulate around pipes.
3. Disconnect and drain outdoor hoses; cover hose bib.
4. Insulate exposed pipes in unheated spaces (garages, crawl spaces, attics) with pipe wraps or covers.
5. Know where your main shut-off valve is to quickly turn off water if a pipe bursts.
These steps can help prevent frozen or burst pipes, which can be both inconvenient and costly. For water-related emergencies, please call the North Fulton County Water Distribution System at 770-640-3040.
