Fulton County Commissioner Dana Barrett of District 3, is taking on a new leadership role at the national level. She is now a member of the prestigious National Association of Counties (NACo) Telecommunications & Technology (T&T) Policy Committee.
The Commissioner will work with county leaders from around the country to address all matters pertaining to telecommunications and technology policy including the county’s role as a regulator, service provider, and consumer; cable services; information technology; e-governance; and GIS data collection and utilization.
“This new role builds on my focus to raise awareness on the importance of digital equity and technological resources for all residents” said Commissioner Barrett. “I am humbled and honored to be able to work with colleagues from around the country improve access to and regulation of technology.”
Following her election into office in November 2022, Commissioner Barrett has fought to decrease the digital divide and increase technology resources for all residents. In January 2024, she partnered with Inspiredu and Comcast to unveil Connect the Dots, an initiative that brings together public and private resources to better serve the citizens of Fulton County.
The Telecommunications & Technology committee has a Chair and eight Vice Chairs. The T&T Committee also has two subcommittees with associated leadership. Commissioner Barrett will serve in her role as a committee member through July 31, 2025.
