The AmeriCorps Senior Program empowers adults 55 and older to provide friendship and support to isolated seniors. Hear more from AmeriCorps Program Coordinator Betty Anderson. The outcome and the feedback that I've received from the seniors have been amazing. The seniors are going out to the multi-purpose stations or just to the rec center. They are engaging in zumba classes, they are doing trips to the museum, just having dinner and lunch. They actually have a companion that they can walk with and talk with.
