Volunteer Opportunities

Do you have a passion for working in the environment and protecting our water resources? Fulton County Public Works has many ways for community members to volunteer and practice environmental stewardship by protecting our most precious water resources. Contact us at PW.Customer.Service@fultoncountyga.gov to learn more about any of our volunteer opportunities or click the Get Involved Volunteer Opportunities link.

Georgia Adopt-A-Stream

The Adopt-A-Stream program is a community volunteer stream monitoring program that assesses the health of local waterways through chemical, physical, and biological monitoring. Additionally, volunteers learn to provide visual assessments about streams in their local watershed.

Fulton County Adopt-A-Drain

When it rains, excess water leaves our communities through storm drains. These drains lead to our local creeks and streams, which feed our drinking water source, the Chattahoochee River. By adopting a storm drain in your neighborhood, you are making a difference in your community by keeping our waterways clean and helping to prevent flooding.

Community Stream Cleanups

Did you know that Fulton County hosts community stream cleanups? Whether by organizing an event for your community or by participating in one of ours, your contributions help to protect the creeks and streams that feed our drinking water source. Fulton County can even support your cleanup initiatives by providing the supplies and support you need to make the event a success.
