Kenneth Rucker

Kenneth L. Rucker serves as a Lieutenant Investigator at the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office under the leadership of District Attorney Fani T. Willis. In this role, he supervises the Senior Investigators within the Case Intake Division.

Kenneth brings more than 37 years of law enforcement and criminal justice experience to his role as a Lieutenant Investigator in the Bureau of Investigations at the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office. During his tenure with the office, Kenneth has served as an Investigator in the Trial Division and as a Senior Investigator in both the Special Victims Division and the Domestic Violence Division. In 2017, Kenneth was recognized as the CWAC Investigator of the Year.

Since first joining the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office in 2009, Kenneth has supported felony prosecutions by investigating major crimes, including interviewing suspects, victims, and witnesses; drafting and executing search warrants; requesting and serving subpoenas; and participating in assignments such as surveillance, raids, and arrests. He has a strong record of professional achievement and partnership.

Kenneth served as Chief of Police for the Fulton County Schools Police Department from 1997 to 2008, after rising through the ranks from School Resource Officer. He holds several Georgia P.O.S.T. certifications, including Executive, Supervisory, Field Training Officer, and Basic certifications. Kenneth began his law enforcement career with the MARTA Police Department in 1984 as a Patrolman and left as a Sergeant/Watch Commander in 1993.

Additionally, Kenneth served as a commissioned officer in the Naval Reserve. As a Naval officer, he completed two tours supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. Kenneth earned numerous awards and honors, including the Navy Seabee Combat Warfare Specialist Qualification (Officer), the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Armed Forces Reserve Medal (“M” for Mobilization, 4th Award), the Navy Achievement Medal (4th Award), the Navy Sea Service Award, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Navy Expert Rifle Shot Medal, and the Navy Expert Pistol Shot Medal. Kenneth retired from the Naval Reserve as an officer in 2013.

Kenneth earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Brenau University in 1991. He later earned a Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) with honors from Georgia State University in 1993. Additionally, Kenneth completed coursework in doctoral studies in Public Administration at the University of Georgia and Sociology at Georgia State University.

Kenneth is a proud and active member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., from which he has earned several community awards. Kenneth, his wife, and their children are active members of Simpson Street Church of Christ, where Kenneth serves as an Elder.
